The expo floor is always an interesting place, regardless of the show, but at Interop it’s especially fun to see how companies are marketing the latest and greatest network gear. After the expo floor opened this morning, I wandered around for a bit and noticed several fascinating booths. The “awards” listed here are in no way official, but they represent my opinion as of the moment I wrote this.

Most “Wow” Booth

Xirrus and their boxing ring. I think the steel death-match cage was nixed, but the ring is impressive on its own.

Best Stuffed Animal Swag

The little coyotes at Coyote Point. If I still had a kid at home, I would have worked hard to score one of these.

Booth That Shows the Direction of Future Media

InteropTV, streaming live from the floor. It only gets bigger and better from here.

Most Unexpected Trend in Fashion

Orange. It’s everywhere. I live in Gainesville, Florida (home of the University of Florida) so it kinda makes me feel at home, but I don’t think I’ve ever seen quite so much orange in one place outside of The Swamp.

Best T-Shirts

Splunk. Who else? Companies that think their shirts are better are welcomed to contact me with potential bribes.

There will be more tomorrow, but I didn’t think you needed to suffer from the lack of this vital information one minute more…
